Market Harborough

| The Harborough Band started in 1897. They can be heard in concerts locally and in the Summer in Welland Park. Celebrations like Christmas would not be the same without their renditions of favourite carols! They also teach children and take part in contests. One of their most prestigious events was in 1998 at Althorpe for the Princess of Wales Memorial Concert. Smaller sections of the band can often be found playing in the town centre where they collect for charities as well as for their own expenses, as they are entirely self-supporting. The panel shows some of the instrumentalists, resplendent in their uniforms, being watched over by their president. |
