Tethering Posts
&Van Mural These east-iron posts can be found in the narrow road between the old Town Hall and the Red Cow and also opposite the Parish Church. They represent the many posts, with chains hanging between them, which are shown as lining each side of the High Street in old photographs. They kept the market cattle from the pavements. The mural showing an old-fashioned delivery van is painted on the side wall of a family furnishing shop in Northampton Road.
