This pane] is based on a contemporary portrait of this successful
Harborough draper who was also the Administrator of the 'Town Estate'
(in modern times the Market Harborough and the Bowdens Charity). His
strong interest in local history and access to old documents and maps
provided material for his first recorded history of the town.
Unfortunately he was not able to publish his work, but later authors
used his manuscript. At one time he lived at 45 High Street.
