Hedgerow Birds &
Flowers Complementing the countryside panel next to it, here is shown a selection of the birds and flowers associated with the area; dunnock, chaffinch, hawthorn, wild rose, blackberry and cow parsley. Many of the hedges dividing the fields around Harborough were first planted at the time of the enclosure of the open fields of Great Bowden Parish in 1776 and Little Bowden Parish in 1780. These parishes almost encircled the town as Harborough had little land of its own.
