The Harborough District Council Shield

Designed in 1975, after the creation of the new Council, it incorporates emblems of the four districts that were united then.
The Holy Bible is for John Wycliffe, rector of Lutterworth, who translated it into English and the Bull's Head was also on that town's arms.
Billesdon had the horseshoe, a common heraldic device used by the ancient manors there.
The Roman Eagle is for the Roman roads in the area and the wavy lines for the rivers Avon and Welland.
