The Market
Harborough and the Bowdens Charity Originally three charities, run by feoffees or trustees, the oldest one being the Town Estate mentioned in records in the early 1600s but thought to be much older. The other charities Great Bowden and Little Bowden were first mentioned in the 1800s. In 1994 the three amalgamated into one body with the area of benefit now within the boundaries of Market Harborough town. The panel shows the modern symbol for the charity at the top with a silhouette townscape of Harborough below. |
