51 High Street
This Georgian house has a Victorian bowed facade of 1891. It has been a
Solicitor's office for many years. It is known for the wonderful
wisteria covering the front of the building. It shares with its
neighbours some of the 19lh century in-filling of houses and workshops
behind the High Street. This helped to swell the population of
Harborough from 1,704 in 1811 to 2,488 in 1841 without much expansion
beyond its mediaeval boundaries. |
