4 Church Square This traditional butcher's shop has a good late Georgian shopfront. The door on its curved corner is flanked by two inset Greek Ionic columns. The shop stands on the corner of Church Street, shown as Little Street in old maps, the Cloth Market was held here on market days. The properties on the opposite side forming an 'island' with those in the High Street are typical encroachment of a large mediaeval market place which would have been triangular in shape.
