OLNEYS

The Olneys enter the family with the marriage of Anne Olney to Henry Morecotte in about 1520 in Tachebrook .

The Olneys must have lived in Tachbrook for some time, as Dugdale in the 1630's recorded two coats of arms for the Olneys. One has Fishes, the other two are similar and the presence of crescents, crenellations and crosses would suggest that these were those of a second son. The Olneys appear to be related to the Onley and the Only's. The Onleys became a very prominent family in Coventry.
